Fiery haired Northern hard trance veteran Phil York hasn’t taken his foot of the pedal for the last few years tearing up and down the U.K motorways playing for the likes of Goodgreef, Bionic, Kiddfectious, Escape, Frantic, Atomik weekender, Hindsight, Mayhem as well as his London residency at the legendary Freeformation parties! Phil has also been clocking up his airmile’s playing to sell out crowds around Europe for the likes of Q-Dance, Rdical (Spain) Quartz Festival as well as further afield in Canada, U.S.A, South Africa, Australia & New Zealand!
Breaking into the scene back in 2003 with releases on one time scene leaders Nukleuz & Tidy, Phil’s euphoric sound and arm raising dj performances shot him onto the UK harddance scene alongside being well known for co-promoting the legendary Nuklearpuppy events in Edinburgh, which gave Edinburgh debuts to the likes of Yoji, Scot project, Judge Jules and Marco V!
Over the past two years Phil has been diversifying his sound taking onboard the wave of European sounds sweeping the world moving away from his UK hard trance root’s to a harder edge European sound! This change in sound and direction has catapulted him into the very forefront of the global harddance scene leading the way to become the U.K’s ambassador to hard trance.
Phil’s Tranzlation label has seen over 60 releases over the past 4 years, shifting over 80,000 units and featuring on over 70 compilations worldwide with countless anthems picking up plays from the biggest names in the business such as Scot project, Alex Kidd, Lisa Lashes, Tidy Boys, ASYS and Andy Whitby as well as heavy rotation play’s on kutski’s radio one show, proving that its leading the way in hard trance sounds!
2009 saw Phil step thing up a level with remixes and collaborations with the biggest names in the business as demand for his productions reached an all time high working alongside Lisa Lashes, Alex Kidd, Anne Savage as well as being asked to provide an official remix to dance classic RBA’s ‘No Alternative’ due for a full re-release in 2010.
2010 see’s Phil take things one step further with the anthemic ‘Traffic’ set for release on Tranzlation which has become one of the most sought after track’s on the scene and future collaboration’s already booked in with Lisa Lashes, Fausto and Kidd Kaos. If this wasn’t enough Phil has also been chosen to co-host the new Goodgreef Xtra hard podcast alongside Alex Kidd, Kutski & Organ Donor’s set for global launch in June.
This year will also see the launch of Phil’s new concept set up alongside the voice of Q-Dance radio, Fausto. International Hard Dance Session’s is a brand new concept set to unite the global hard dance scene, hand picking key artists from each territory to showcase their hard edge sound including hard trance from Germany, hardstyl e from Holland, hard dance from the U.K, Tech dance from Japan and everything in-between, from every key port of hard dance across the globe! This exciting new concept launches as a series of E.P’s over the summer as well as a podcast, with a full 3 disc physical and digital album set for release in November with a worldwide tour kicking off in October!
